We train like people used to train before exercise got dumbed down for the masses. We believe that the human body is meant to express itself in beautiful, intelligent and powerful ways.  We realize there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to weightlifting and powerlifting.  We take this into consideration when creating your programming, coaching you, and planning your recovery.  We will help you work towards your goals whatever they may be.  Whether you want to become a better/stronger CrossFitter, compete in local competitions, compete nationally, or just get strong, we are here for you.


The Brooklyn Barbell Club is a community. We’re here to help you get fitter and stronger, and we expect that as you get comfortable, you’ll help other people get fitter and stronger. This ain’t your big-box gym — you can’t be anonymous here. We’ll be keeping tabs on your progress and are always available to help you design your training and nutrition to achieve optimal results.

Top-notch Coaching

Our coaches include CrossFit Level 1 Seminar Staff, Yoga Tune-Up Seminar Staff, CrossFit Olympic Weightlifting Seminar Staff, and CrossFit Gymnastics Seminar Staff. Our coaches teach other coaches how to be good coaches. Our athletes get world-class coaching. We’ll ask you about your goals, pay attention to your progress, and give you personalized advice to get you to the top of your game.

Training Facility

The Brooklyn Barbell Club is a 5,000 square feet facility that’s home to our weightlifting club and CrossFit box. We lift with custom Pendlay bumpers on eight platforms on nice, flat concrete floors. Unlike many NYC facilities, we currently have no issue with dropping weights and are happy to allow you to do so!
